Pride Across the Bridge is a passionate 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is committed to supporting and uplifting the voices and lived experience of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community on the Eastside. We firmly believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and celebrated close to home, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. As the Eastside heavily lacks the resources and reliable events that are readily available in Seattle, our mission is to create a strong and inclusive community on this side of the bridge through an array of support. We strive to provide compassionate education, support, and safe spaces events for queer individuals through our unique events, which range from cozy low pressure gatherings in local bakeries to exciting adventures like group skydiving.
At PAB, we thrive on connecting people and building relationships. We believe that a strong sense of community is essential for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals to thrive and feel accepted, and that by providing accessible educational resources and advocacy opportunities close to home, we can help build a stronger sense of pride within our community. We believe that everyone deserves free access to resources and safe connecting events that support their identity and well-being close to home. That's why PAB offers a wide array of events, resources, spaces and initiatives to support our 2SLGBTQIA+ family on the Eastside. Our initiatives include:
Pushing and leading the way for the first city rainbow crosswalk in Redmond, aiming to be finished late August 2023. As well as pushing for a Woodinville rainbow crosswalk that is currently in the works.
Sharing 2SLGBTQIA+ specific and ally resources covering everything from terminology and compassionate local providers, to free STI testing, tailoring, and drafted questions for parents to vet schools before enrolling their youth.
Hosting a variety of recurring and special events for our 2SLGBTQIA+ residents, some of which include a monthly Beyond Binary Connections group, Rainbow Elder Breakfast, queer artist meetup, and exciting yearly events like a queer skydiving group and our big Redmond Pride event, which elevates over 50 2SLGBTQIA+ vendors and local queer performers, experienced and new.
Sharing lived experiences of queer individuals on the Eastside through community education spaces such as our Trans-cending Perspectives Panel which delves into the impact of transitioning on our transgender and non-binary neighbors. This space exists to help battle misinformation and educate those in our region who want to know more, but may not know where to go to ask questions.
